Zu den Vorteilen des RUGGEDCOM Serial Device Server RS401 zählt eine automatische Erkennung der Hardware über Plug’nPlay, Crossover und Autonegotiation. Dadurch werden periphere Devices automatisch erkannt, in das Netzwerk eingebunden und stehen anschließend direkt über die Interfaces zur Verfügung. Zu den Schnittstellen gehören u.a.
